Gajah menggunakan belalainya sebgai snorkel ketika berenang di sungai. Tak heran jika gajah-gajah ini mampu bersnorkling ria di sungai tanpa takut tenggelam. Seperti halnya manusia, gajah flying squad selalu mandi 2 kali sehari untuk menghindari agas (kutu gajah). Nah, sudahkah anda mandi 2 kali hari ini??

Berpatroli menyusuri hutan Tesso Nilo bersama Flying Squad team. Tidak hanya melewati hutan, namun kami juga harus menyeberangi sungai dan terjerembab di lumpur. Pengalaman yang cukup memacu adrenalin. Jalur yang kami lewati juga biasa digunakan untuk jalur Ecotur wisata minat khusus (terbatas).

Venanta, pemenang kompetisi desain T-Ger! sedang memasak puding untuk gajah. Puding gajah terdiri dari jagung, dedak, garam, gula merah dan air. Garam dan mineral dibutuhkan gajah untuk tulang, gigi dan gading yang kuat. Puding hanyalah makanan pelengkap untuk gajah, rumput tetap menjadi makanan pokok mereka.

Tesso Nilo merupakan daerah yang digunakan dalam program penanaman oleh Forest Friend (Sahabat Hutan) WWF-Indonesia untuk membantu strategi restorasi hutan dengan menanam pohon di beberapa daerah rusak di Taman Nasional Tesso Nilo. Restorasi difokuskan pada habitat-habitat kritis harimau sumatera. Kami berkesempatan untuk menanam pohon di salah satu area penanaman.

Gajah Flying Squad Tesso Nilo ini bertugas memantau kegiatan illegal di kawasan Tesso nilo dan menghalau gajah liar memasuki kawasan masyarakat serta menggiringnya kembali ke hutan.
